Have you ever turned down the volume in the car, in order to help you see directions better? Of course, there are some people who swear they can concentrate with a thudding bassline, or a whining chorus, just fine. For most of us though, too much sensory input can cause us to lose our focus. It is not always a noise that distracts us. Often it can be the combination of too many little things piling up that leaves us feeling overwhelmed and overpowered.
