It is easy to assume the motives of others. In fact, the less a person says about what they are doing, the more we are able to narrate our own version of the truth of a matter to ourselves. You can tell yourself whatever story you wish to today but it may not be as good as the one you will hear if you listen instead to those you are seeking to understand.
