I had a teacher when I was young who used to say “sorry doesn’t mean anything if you do it again”… for a while, as I got older I used to agree with her. But some people really are sorry, and totally incapable of yet rendering the changes they ultimately wish to make. There is a fine line between enabling somebody to ‘get away with it’ and being patient and kind. You will not lose anything though by doing the latter today.
